FAQ
How do I remove my press on nails?
It is recommended to not rip or pull off press on nails. To remove, soak nails in warm soapy water for 2-3 minutes. As the press on nails loosen from the edges, a cuticle stick can be used to gently lift and allow additional water to dissolve the glues bond, allowing the nail tip to be gently removed. Ensure hands are dry and free from sticky tab residue before reapplying a fresh set of tips.
How long will my press on nails last?
We have curated a range of adhesive tab options so you can switch out your glacé nail tips at an interval that suits you. All press-ons come with 24pcs of our Fortnightly Adhesive Tabs, if you wish to customise your wear, you can purchase
-
DAILY - work best overnight or for a single event, pop off with gentle pressure and cuticle stick when desired
WEEKLY - A great option when you want to enjoy a special set for more applications or wear a simple set during the week (+ swap out for a fun one over the weekend!)
FORTNIGHTLY - With proper preparation, your press on nails can last over 2 weeks with our longest wearing adhesive tab. They are designed to last multiple applications, so we recommend purchasing a set of our adhesive tabs so the premium nail tips can be reapplied for longer wear.
How do I know what size I need?
At glacé, we use standard sizing for our nail tips. We’ve created a nail size guide to help you determine your sizing. View Size Chart & How To Measure
Choose the size that fits most of your fingers. For a slender look, some prefer nails that aren’t full coverage. For full coverage on every nail, go for the bigger size.
Still not sure? Over 70% of customers are size S, so we recommend starting there if you aren’t sure. We will help you exchange if you ordered the wrong size. Note - we do not exchange for different designs or international orders (MY only).
What’s so special about hand painted nail tips vs machine made?
Machine made press-ons are produced at scale - printed and stamped by automated processes that prioritise speed over finish. The result is often a flat, plastic-looking nail that sits obviously on the hand and lacks the depth and detail of a real manicure.
Hand painted nails are a different thing entirely. Each glacé tip is painted by a skilled manicurist, the same way your nails would be done at a salon. This means every layer of colour, every design detail, and every finish is applied with real precision and care - giving the nail a natural depth and texture that machines simply can't replicate. The result is a set that genuinely looks like your nails, not something you pressed on.
Not sure if the press-ons you've tried before were machine made? Here's what to look out for:
- They often come in one-size-fits-all sets at a low price point, with little consideration for fit
- On the nails they can appear wide and flare at the base of the nail
- Accent details look flat and sit on the surface of the nail - French tips, florals, and other designs have an uncanny, overly perfect quality that reads as artificial
- 3D embellishments like rhinestones and pearls are simply glued onto the surface rather than sealed under a top coat, so they lift and fall off quickly
- The base can feel sharp against the skin and tends to slide back toward the cuticle over time, creating an uncomfortable pinching sensation
- Once removed, the nails are typically warped and deformed - they're a one-wear product
- The free edge appears thick and unnatural, and often comes with a small sharp nub of plastic left over from the moulding process that needs filing before wear
If you've tried press-ons before and been let down, we understand - it's exactly why glacé exists. Every detail of our nail tips has been considered with those frustrations in mind, so you can finally have the experience you were hoping for the first time around.
I tried adhesive tabs before and they didn’t last - how are these different?
Not all adhesive tabs are created equal, and the longevity of your press-ons comes down to choosing the right one for how you want to wear them.
glacé offers three adhesive tab strengths so you can wear your nails exactly the way you want:
DAILY - ideal for overnight wear or a single event. Pops off gently with a cuticle stick when you're done, leaving your nails completely intact for next time.
WEEKLY - perfect if you love switching up your look. Wear a simple set through the week and swap to something more elevated for the weekend.
FORTNIGHTLY - our strongest tab, designed for up to 2+ weeks of continuous wear with proper preparation. Built for multiple applications so your glacé tips can be reapplied again and again.
Every glacé set comes with 48 pcs of our Fortnightly Adhesive Tabs included (enough for 2+ full applications). Additional packs of all 3 tab varieties are available to purchase separately depending on your lifestyle and how often you like to switch things up.
Can I customize the length & shape of my nails?
A light file for a more customised shape at the base is fine, but avoid too much cutting or filing to keep your Press Ons lasting as long as possible. Just like a salon done nail, the gel polish might peel or chip if the top coat is damaged from excessive filing.
Can I reuse glacé press-ons?
Yes - glacé nails are designed to be reapplied and worn multiple times. They are finished with a durable top coat so your favourite styles can be collected and reworn. Once your nails have been soaked off or gently removed, simply peel or roll away any remaining sticky tab adhesive from the nail tip - it lifts off cleanly without leaving residue. Your glacé nails are then ready to be reapplied as usual with a fresh set of sticky tabs. If you're planning to reuse your set, don't forget to add a pack of sticky tabs to your cart!
Do you offer other adhesive options?
At glacé we do not offer glue as an adhesive option as they damage the nail beds and cannot be removed completely from the press-ons - instead we offer exclusive long wear adhesive tabs which with proper application can last up to two weeks as a long term wear option without damage. Plus they can be removed easily from the nail tips for easy reuse.
How do glacé press ons differ from other brands?
glacé was born out of frustration. After trying hundreds of press-ons and adhesives on the market (all claiming to be ‘salon grade’), we kept running into the same problems - nails that looked obviously fake on the hand, a far cry from the premium salon finish we wanted, designs that were either too loud or just uninspired, and application processes that were more hassle than they were worth.
So we set out to do it differently.
Every glacé set is finished with a durable top coat and crafted with the kind of elevated, minimalist aesthetic we actually wanted to wear - designs you won't find anywhere else. Our nails are made to look and feel indistinguishable from a professional manicure, sitting flush against the hand the way a real set would.
We also believe press-ons shouldn't be disposable. glacé nails are built to be reused - simply remove, clean off the adhesive tab, and reapply with a fresh set of sticky tabs whenever you're ready to wear them again. No waste, no compromise.
We’ve also sourced the best range of adhesive tabs to help you wear and swap out your glacé mani collection at a period that suits you, whether that be for a one night occasion or full fortnight of wear without the damage.
This is the press-on experience we always wanted. We know you'll feel the difference.
I tried press ons before and they didn’t fit well - how are these different?
Fit is one of the most common frustrations with press-ons, and it's something we put a lot of thought into when designing glacé.
Our nail tips are made from a premium flexible base that gently conforms to the cuticle line, creating a close, seamless adhesion that sits flush against the nail - the way a real manicure would. That flexibility is what makes the difference between a nail that looks obviously fake and one that genuinely passes as your own.
We also developed a custom nail shape from scratch. Rather than using a standard mould, our signature soft almond shape was designed to flatter as many hand shapes as possible while remaining practical for everyday wear - elegant enough to feel elevated, but not so dramatic that they get in the way of real life.
To make sure you get the most comfortable fit possible, each glacé set is available in a range of sizes. Not sure which is right for you?
